THE LORD'S INVITATION TO SALVATION

 "Just as I am, without one plea,
but that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidd’st me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come."

Despite all the differences there are among people, there is one thing we all have in common.  We all are lost sinners who need a Savior.  The Bible tells us that "there is none righteous, no, not one." (Romans 3:10)  "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)  Our sin condemns us before the holy God.  The wages our sin earns for us is eternal death away from the presence of God, "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)  Yes, we are sinners, and we need a Savior to save us from our sin.

Jesus is the Savior we all need.  Jesus alone is uniquely qualified to be the Savior of the world.  He is the sinless Son of God.  Because He never had any sins of His own, He could offer Himself as the substitute for us.  That is just what He did.  "Christ died for our sins." (1 Corinthians 15:3)  He was buried in a borrowed tomb, and on the third day He rose again from the dead.  Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)  Because Jesus took our place and died for our sins, we can be saved from our sins through Him.

No amount of good works we can do could ever make up for our sins.  The Bible says that we are saved "by grace through faith," and "not of works." (Ephesians 2:8-9)  God has graciously provided a way for us to be saved.  All we can do is to reach out by faith and receive the gift He is offering to us.

God will save us from our sins when we by faith trust in Jesus Christ as our Savior.  The Bible says it plainly: "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)  Have you ever acknowledged that you are a sinner and that Jesus is the Savior you need?  Have you asked Jesus to save you, believing that He died for your sins?  If not, why not do that right now?

As soon as you are willing to call on the Lord, He will save you.  You don’t need a church building, or a pastor, or a spine-tingling experience in order to be saved.  All you need is Jesus, and He stands ready to hear your call today.  Trust fully in Him and in Him alone.  He will save you.

"As many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name." (John 1:12)

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." (Acts 16:31)

"Just as I am – Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come."
